How do I Participate?
The Innovative Learning Institute meets on the last Monday of each Month. from 5:30 pm - 8:30pm in the Peninsula College Pirate Union Building (PUB).
Participation in the Innovative Learning Institute is not limited to attending monthly meetings. If you would like to share your ideas contact us at admin@innovativelearninginstitute.com.
Meeting Notes:
November 24th, 2008, Training will be held at Peninsula College in Port Angeles Washington. Training will be in the Student Center 5:30 - 8:30 PM. Bring your wireless laptop. Participants will work in small groups to develop training topics. Clock hours are currently being evaluated for this training.
October 27th, 2008, During the second meeting the Institute began drafting an outline of the skills needed to develop web based learning. The innovative topics list can be found in the left hand menu. The training will utilize the google sites platform with and emphasis on transferable skills to any course management system. A topic of group conversation centered around the merits of web based classroom content.
September 29th, 2008,The Innovative Learning Institute met for the first time at 5pm this evening. We determined that we will be using this forum to share ideas and foster innovative teaching and learning concepts. For this year, we will focus on developing the skills necessary to create web-based learning content.
Guiding Principles:
1. Promote individualized instruction.
2. Promote connected learning.
3. Promote innovation in teaching and learning.
